NBA for full automation at SC to conduct hearing

Kathmandu, July 30: The Nepal Bar Association (NBA) has demanded enforcement of full automation at Supreme Court for hearing. A memorandum was submitted to Chief Justice Hari Krishna Karki to this regard on Sunday.

An NBA team led by its Chairman Gopal Krishna Ghimire submitted the memorandum to Chief Justice Karki, demanding immediate implementation of full computerization to conduct hearing. Receiving the memorandum, Chief Justice Karki reminded that a report was prepared under his leadership for reform in judiciary. It had pointed out anomalies in court and recommended for remedy.

He informed that lottery system was adopted to ensure transparency in cases.

The NBA’s 15th national conference and its 48th meeting of central executive council held in Birgunj had decided to put forth demand before SC to enforce fully automated system for conducting hearing.

The NBA had underscored the implementation of report recommendation for ending thriving corruptions, irregularities, aberrations and anomalies, and brokering in judiciary. It would help promote independent judiciary, the NBA added.
