KATHMANDU: The narrow body A320 aircraft of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has been grounded due to technical reasons. The corporation has stated that the engine had a problem while parking the aircraft during the Kathmandu-Lhasa flight.

The spokesperson of the corporation, Archana Khadka, said in a press release that necessary steps have been taken to make the grounded aircraft airworthy.

The problem has been identified in the left engine of the aircraft and the NAC management has consulted with the engine manufacturer PA/IAE, the NAC informed.

Meanwhile, the wide-body aircraft A330 had also faced technical problems while preparing for the Kathmandu-Narita flight.

The problem was solved by the engineering team of the NAC by importing spare parts from Sri Lanka. After that, the aircraft flew to Delhi today, the company said in a statement.

The corporation has two wide-body and two narrow-body aircraft for international flights. These airplanes have been flying to nine destinations in seven countries, including three in India.
