Kathmandu, Dec 21: Nepal Airlines has issued a notice for the auction of five aircraft. According to the notice, it will sell two MA-60 and three Y-12E aircraft.

These Chinese aircraft have been grounded at Tribhuvan International Airport for three years.

Whoever accepts the highest price will get the planes, the notice said.

The buyer can submit a sealed tender before until February 4, 2024.

Nepal government earlier purchased these aircraft from China, however higher cost of operation had forced to NAC to ground these aircraft. The Auditor General report and Parliamentary Committees had also directed government of Nepal to immediately sort out the issue of operation of these aircraft or auction.
