Kathmandu, March 5: Two female pilots of the Nepal Airlines have conducted first international flight, creating a history in the aviation of the Nepal Airlines Corporation.
Pilots Bhawana Pant and Co-Pilot Shreejana Rawat together flew the national flag carrier to Dubai from Kathmandu on Saturday night, according to Archana Khadka, Spokesperson of the Corporation.
Spokesperson Khadka gushed, “Pilots Bhawana Panta and Shreejana Rawat together conducted the international flight for the first time in the history of the Corporation. There is already record of all-female pilots flying the aircraft but in the international flight, it is Corporation’s first.”
According to the Corporation, the female pilot duo took off the Tribhuvan International Airport at 11:00pm flying the Corporation’s Airbus A-320 aircraft.
They are scheduled to fly back home on coming Wednesday, marking the International Women’s Day. Their flight will have female cabin crew, making it all female-crew flight, it was shared.
There are currently five female pilots flying various aircrafts (narrow-body and wide body) of the Corporation, it was said.
