Kathmandu, Nov 10: Major General of Nepali Army (NA) Tara Dhowj Pandey has resigned from his post on Friday.
According to NA Spokesperson Krishna Prasad Bhandari, Pandey’s resignation letter has been sent to the Defence Ministry from the NA Headquarters.
According to reports, he had submitted two different documents (citizenship and educational certificate) with different date of birth. A case was also filed against Pandey in the Supreme Court, and Ministry of Defence was considering to investigate the matter.
General Pandey was considered to be next Chief of Army Staff. The Nepal Army Headquarter had sent his name for the promotion on the post of Lieutenant General recently.
