Nepal-China art exhibition held to highlight cultural significance



Kathmandu: A “Nepal-China art exhibition” was organised at the Babarmahal-based Nepal Art Council.

The expo entitled “China-Nepal Ten years” Art Achievement of Calligraphy, Painting and Photography features photos, paintings, thangka and calligraphy based on the theme of Nepal-China relations.

Such works were taken and prepared in the past one decade.

The event organised by the Confucius Institute at Tribhuvan University was supported by the South Asia Network TV, Sahayogi Nepal, Overseas Chinese Association and Nepali Chinese Entrepreneurship Association.

During the inaugural session of the event, TU Confucius Institute Nepalese director Prof Bal Mukunda Regmi, teacher Shibalal Bhusal, the Institute Chinese director, representatives from Nepal Overseas Chinese Association and Nepali Chinese Entrepreneurship Association said such types of events would help further consolidate the mutual relations, providing a forum for the bilateral cultural exchanges.

Terming Nepal and China as close friends connected by peaks and waters, they said the neighbors carried a long history of friendship and bilateral cultural exchanges.

The exhibition was also the significant means of further consolidating such historic bonding, they added.

As the Institute said, the event aimed to further strengthen the Nepal-India ties and people to people’s relations.

The event is expected to promote the cultural significance of Nepal and China as well.
