Nepal concedes to India in SAFF U-19 Championship

KATHMANDU: Nepal has conceded to India in the ongoing SAFF U-19 football championship in Bangladesh. In the match played in Dhaka on Sunday, India defeated Nepal 1-0.

With the win, India entered the final. Priyanka Devi from India did the goal at the 67th minute determining India’s victory.

On the other hand, another match is awaited to determine whether Nepal will enter the final. The result of the match to be played between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka is awaited for it. In case, Bangladesh wins Sri Lanka or plays draw, Nepal would be relegated. Nepal has seven points so far.

Meanwhile, Minister for Youth and Sports Maheshwor Jung Gahatraj saw off the national women and mean volleyball teams to Bangladesh, wishing them success. Bangladesh is hosting the Asian Senior Central Zone Men and Women Volleyball Tournament from December 21 to 29. The Nepali team of players, coach and officials is leaving for Bangladesh on Monday. Minister Gahatraj handed over the national flag to them.

On the occasion, the Minister shared information that the ministry was holding discussion with various stakeholders on players’ life.
