Kathmandu, June 30: Nepal has entered the semi-final after defeating Malaysia in a match under ACC East Zone U-16 Cup Cricket. The ACC East Zone U-16 Cup Cricket is taking place in Malaysia.
Nepal made its journey to the semi-final defeating Malaysia by 84 runs in today’s match held at Bayuemas Oval cricket ground.
With this victory, Nepal became the winner of Group ‘A’.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Nepal had gathered 183 runs in 33.4 overs by losing all wickets. Ashok Dhami collected the highest 52 runs for Nepal while Suryanshu Koirala and Naren Bhatta made 29 runs each. Similarly, Deep Bhujel collected 15 runs while Niraj Kumar Yadav eight runs.
Chasing the target posted by Nepal, Malaysia made 99 runs in 30.5 overs by losing all wickets. Mohammad Hairil made 25 runs while captain Mohammad Alif 15 runs. Except Hairil and Alif, other batsmen could not collect double digit runs.
For Nepal, Ashok Dhami took four wicket while Captain Abhishekh Tiwari three wickets, Santosh Yadav two wickets.
With this loss, Malaysia reached semi-final becoming a runner-up team of Group ‘A’.RSS
