Nepal loses to Sri Lanka in U-19 Asia Cup



Kathmandu, Nov 29: Nepal Under-19s lost their opening match of the ACC U-19 Asia Cup to Sri Lanka by 55 runs at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Chasing a target of 234 runs, Nepal was bowled out for 178 in 46.2 overs. Opener Mayan Yadav top-scored with 62 runs. He faced 91 balls and hit 3 fours and 2 sixes.

Likewise, Aakash Tripathi scored 19 runs, Arjun Kumal 12, Santosh Yadav 10, Naren Bhatta 12, Roshan Bishwakarma 5, Uttam Magar 17 and Naren Saud 16 runs.

Praveen Maneesha starred for Sri Lanka with three wickets.

Earlier, Sri Lanka scored 233, led by Sharujan Shanmuganathan’s 62 and Lakvin Abeysinghe’s 53. Santosh Yadav claimed four wickets for Nepal. Nepal will face Bangladesh in their next match on December 1.
