Nepal lost to Baroda by 37 runs



Kathmandu, April 5: Today Baroda defeated Nepal by 37 runs in the last match of the league under the ongoing SMS Friendship Cup in India.

Chasing a target of 157 runs presented by Baroda for victory, Nepal was bowled out for 119 runs in 18.5 overs.

Sandeep Jora scored the highest 56 runs for Nepal. He hit four sixes and three fours facing 43 balls.

Besides, Bibek Yadav scored 17 runs, Kushal Bhurtel scored 16 runs, while other batsmen could not score significant runs. Kushal Malla scored three runs, Dipendra Singh Airee and Akash GC scored two runs each, while Anil Shah and Gulshan Jha scored one run each.

In Baroda’s victory, Dhruv Patel took four wickets, while Toxia  took three wickets and Jay Avale took two wickets. Hemant Punde also took one wicket.

Earlier, winning the toss Baroda batted first and scored 156 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. For that, Shashwat Rawat contributed 31 runs while Dhruv Patel scored 29 runs. Also, Amit Pasi scored 26 runs, Mohit Mongia scored 20 runs and Abhimanyu Singh Rajput scored 11 runs.

For Nepal, Karan KC and Gulshan Jha took two wickets each while Akash Chand, Pratish GC, Lalit Rajbanshi and Dipendra Singh Airee took one wicket each.

In the ongoing competition, Nepal and Gujarat have already reached the finals. Nepal reached the final by winning both matches against Gujarat and one match against Baroda. #nepal
