Nepal Oil Corporation to sell half-filled LPG cylinders at NRs 955

Kathmandu, March 12: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), the state-owned entity, has decided to distribute half-filled LPG cylinders to consumers in order to manage supply and meet growing demand.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the corporation said each cylinder will contain 7.1 kilograms of LPG and will be sold at NRs 955 per cylinder. The decision will come into effect from Friday and remain in force until further notice.

According to NOC, the move has been taken to streamline the supply and distribution system of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and ensure that gas is available to consumers as per demand.

The corporation has requested the general public to purchase LPG according to the new arrangement.

NOC clarified that it has been importing and distributing LPG regularly based on demand, but the demand for cooking gas has increased significantly in the Kathmandu Valley over the past two to three months.

The corporation also noted that the ongoing conflict in the Middle East has affected the global supply of petroleum products and LPG, which has further contributed to supply pressures. #nepal #LPG
