Nepal registers second victory defeating Philippines by 136 runs

Nepal has registered its second victory by defeating the Philippines under the ICC Men’s T-20 World Cup Global Qualifier.
Nepal defeated the Philippines by 136-run in today’s match held at Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Mascot, Oman.

Earlier, Nepal defeated Oman by 39 runs in the first match on Friday at the same ground.

With today’s win, Nepal has reached close to semi-final gaining four points. The Philippines was limited to 82 runs at the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. Nepal had presented a target of 219 runs before the Philippines.

Nepal’s Captain Sandeep Lamichhane took three wickets while Gulshan Jha, Dipendra Singh Airi, Kushal Malla, Abinash Bohara and Jitendra Mukhiya took one wicket each to limit the Philippines to a meager runs.

Invited to bating first after losing the toss, Nepal made 218 runs by losing three wickets in 20 overs. Kushal Bhurtel contributed the highest 104 runs for Nepal. He stroked 3 fours and one six in 61 balls.

This is the highest runs of Kushal in T-20 international match. Similarly, Kushal is the third cricketer making century from Nepal. Dipendra Singh Airi hit six fours and four sixes in 47 balls.

Nepal will play final match of group phase against Canada on Monday.
