Kathmandu, Sept 15: A discussion on the contemporary political issues has been held between leaders of the ruling Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) and the main opposition Nepali Congress.
At the discussion held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar, serious deliberations took place with an agreement to move ahead by building a common understanding on such issues, said Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal.
The Banke incident, the citizenship bill and other major contemporary issues were discussed during the almost two hour-long meeting held this evening.
Chair of the CPN and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, another chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel and others were present in the meeting.
NC spokesperson Biswa Prakash Sharma said that the NC raised concern over the Banke incident and the need to reflect article 6 of the constitution in the citizenship bill.
