Nepali Congress, Maoist Centre, RSP express grief over Saurya air plane crash



Kathmandu, July 24: Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has expressed grief over the tragic incident of an aircraft with call sign 9N AME CRJ 7 of Saurya Airlines at Tribhuvan International Airport this morning.

Issuing a condolence message today on the behalf of President Deuba, NC Party Office Chief Krishna Prasad Poudel expressed sorrow over the Saurya aircraft crash.

A total of 18 employees and technicians of the Saurya Airlines were killed while the pilot was critically injured in the incident.

Extending heartfelt tributes to those killed in the plane crash, President Deuba, on behalf of the party and on his own, wished for the eternal peace of the departed soul and extended condolences to the bereaved families.

Likewise, CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said he was shocked at the news of the death of 18 people when a Saurya Airlines plane crashed at Tribhuvan International Airport today.

Through social site today, he expressed condolences on behalf the CPN (Maoist Centre) and wished for the speedy recovery to the pilot injured in the mishap.

“This accident has caused serious loss to the nation. The country has lost capable technicians. I draw the serious attention of the government for the effective treatment of the injured pilot and for investigation into the plane crash,” the Maoist Centre Chair wrote on social site. He has also appealed one and all for patience.

RSP calls for air safety

Similarly, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has expressed grief over the death of 18 people in the Saurya Air plane crash. In a statement of condolences today, the party has offered heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members.

Urging the air service providers, the regulating bodies and the government to pay sufficient attention to air safety, the statement issued by Acting Spokesperson Manish Jha also wishes for the speedy recovery of Captain Manish Shakya, who miraculously survived the accident. #SauryaAir #nepal #planecrash
