Kathmandu, March 19: The Nepali Congress has decided to join the Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachada’-led government.

The meeting of the Central Executive Committee held at the Lhotse Hall at the Parliament House on Sunday decided to participate in the government and leave the main opposition party status in the parliament. Now, the CPN-UML will be the main opposition from today.

Spokesman Dr Prakasharan Mahat, speaking to reporters after the meeting, said that after Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ takes the vote of confidence, the process of government expansion will proceed. He said that the party will send the ministers to the government based on the decision between the coalition parties.

“After the vote of confidence is taken tomorrow, the process will proceed immediately,” said spokesperson Mahat.

Prime Minister Prachanda will be taking vote of confidence on March 20. He had to take vote of confidence after CPN UML and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) had decided to withdraw from the coalition government.
