KATHMANDU: As Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index gained 11.33 points on Thursday, the market capitalization of the share trading crossed Rs 4010.95 billion in the last day of the Fiscal Year 2020/21.
NEPSE increased by 11.33 points and closed at 2,883.28 points, the NEPSE said. The sensitive index of big companies closed at 541.31 points with the gain of 1.93 points.
On Thursday, a total of 58.5 million plus unit shares of 223 companies were traded at Rs 8.14 billion and 3.61 million. Of the 13 sub-categories, seven posted positive growth and six others lost in the share market.
Hydropower sub-category increased by 56.14 points while banking, trading, finance, non-life insurance, micro finance and mutual fund also posted positive growth.
However, sub-categories including the hotel sector lost in the market. Based on the volume of trading, Gurkhas Finance remained in the top position with the transaction of Rs 367 million followed by NIC Asia Bank.
