NEPSE turns green as banking interest rates drop



Kathmandu, April 12: With the decision to lower the interest rate to a single digit, its positive effect has been seen in the stock market today. The meeting of the Nepal Bankers Association (NBA) held on Wednesday decided to lower the interest rate to a single digit.

With the decision to reduce the interest rate, the NEPSE index increased by 92.22 points i.e. 4.93% to 1,963.55 points in today’s business.

With the increase in the NEPSE index, the transaction amount has also increased.

Today, the sub-indicators of all groups have been seen green. The sub-index of life insurance group increased by 442.33 points and the sub-index of non-life insurance group increased by 343.29 points. The banking group has increased by 66.3 points, the development bank by 197.80 points, the finance by 180.21 points, the hotel and tourism by 18.36 points and the hydropower group by 120.28 points.

Similarly, investment group increased by 2.69 points, production and processing by 218.20 points, microfinance by 172.67 points, mutual funds by 0.39 points, business by 84.21 points and other groups by 47.55 points.

Today, there was a positive circuit in the share price of more than half a dozen companies. Siddharth Equity Fund, Citizens Mutual Fund, Siddharth Investment Growth Scheme-2, Adarsh Microfinance Institution, Khaptad Microfinance, Kalinchok Darshan and Ganapati Microfinance had a positive circuit in their share prices.

However, the share price of three companies decreased today. The value of Everest Bank Venture-2086 has decreased by 1.99, the price of Civil Bank Limited-2088 has decreased by 1.19 and the price of Siddharth Bank Limited Venture-2083 (10.25 percent) has decreased by 0.55 percent.
