BHADRAPUR: Enterpreneurs of Jhapa district have begun to establish a state-of-the-art automatic brick industry in Kamal Rural Municipality-6. The industry will use Hybrid Hoffman Kiln technology. According to enterpreneur Gunaraj Thapa, this technology is being used for the first time in Nepal.

Thapa informed that a technical team will be arriving from Bangladesh. He said that the new technology will prepare brick by machine cutting, burning in tunnel and drying by dryer, and is more environmental-friendly than the traditional brick industry.

It is said that the price of bricks will be affordable as it is produced with less human resources. According to Thapa, customers will be able to use local products at very low prices in the market after starting production from this factory.

He said that local youths would be given top priority and more than 50 people will get employment in the industry. Unlike other bricks, the first, second and third grades are not categorized, so it will be 100 percent first grade, Thapa said.

He has complained that some people have negatively questioned about the industry. Thapa mentioned that the new brick industry has followed and adopted all government regulations.

A total of nearly 145,800 sq ft of land has been allotted for the industry, which will be completed within a year with an investment of Rs 250 million. Thapa also said that similar industries would be set up in Bagmati and Far Western Provinces.
