New Chinese envoy in Kathmandu, “Long Live China–Nepal Friendship”



Kathmandu, Feb 13: The newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Zhang Maoming, arrived in Kathmandu today. He is the 23rd Chinese Ambassador to Nepal.

He was welcomed at Tribhuvan International Airport by officials from Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese Embassy.

Upon arrival Mr Maoming wrote on social media (X): “Together with my colleagues, I look forward to working with all Nepali friends to further advance bilateral exchanges and practical cooperation and promote the growth of China-Nepal Strategic Partnership of Cooperation Featuring Everlasting Friendship for Development and Prosperity.it is a matter of great honor to have the opportunity to serve in Nepal, and that he is very eager to work in areas of mutual cooperation between Nepal and China.”

He further stated “Long live China–Nepal friendship.”

Earlier, former Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Mr Chen Song, had returned to China before completing his tenure.

The new ambassador, Maoming, was serving as Deputy Director-General of the Asian Affairs Department of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He will formally assume his duties after presenting his credentials to President Ram Chandra Poudel. #nepal #china
