KATHMANDU: A world conference of Newars is to be held in Kathmandu. The World Conference of Newars will be held in Basantapur, Kathmandu on the fourth World Newar Day, Chillathwa Chaturdashi (March 27).
The organizing committee of the 4th World Newar Day held a press conference on Tuesday and informed that the world conference which could not be held last year due to the covid-19 pandemic has been organized this year.
The conference will be attended by the leading figures of Newar community from all over the world. The organizers have also informed that eight distinguished persons who have made special contribution for the development of Newar society and Nepal (Newar) language will be honored at the conference.
Similarly, a photo exhibition of Newar ancestors who have made special contribution in the field of Nepal language and literature, Newar food stalls, cultural programs from famous artists and organizations will also be presented at the conference.
