Kathmandu, May 21 : Newly appointed Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, Dr. Bishwa Paudel, has called on Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel at the Ministry of Finance today.
During the meeting, Finance Minister Paudel extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for a successful tenure. Minister Paudel expressed confidence that the new Governor would play a key role in addressing economic and monetary challenges faced by the country by ensuring coordination between fiscal and monetary policies.
In response, Governor Paudel emphasized that while the Ministry of Finance leads the country’s economic policy, the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) supports the implementation of fiscal policy through monetary measures. He also stressed the need to enhance the supervisory capacity of the central bank to improve the efficiency of the financial sector.
Present at the meeting were Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Damodar Bhandari, Finance Secretary Ghanashyam Upadhyaya, Revenue Secretary Dinesh Kumar Ghimire, among others, who also extended their congratulations and best wishes to Governor Paudel.
The cabinet meeting on Tuesday appointed Dr Paudel as the Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank. A recommendation body under Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel proposed the name of three senior professionals including Dr Bishwa Paudel, Deputy Governor Nilam Dhungana and former Secretary Dinesh Bhattarai. #nrb #governor #finance
