Kathmandu, July 12: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Prakash Man Singh, slammed the narrative that no progress has been made in Nepal, saying that it was misleading and an attempt to spread illusion.
At a programme organized by the Nepali Congress at Nagarjun municipality-2 in Kathmandu today to felicitate SEE graduate students, DPM Singh urged the students not to go by false notion of ‘no improvement’ but study the reality.
“There is an attempt to spread the false narrative that nothing has happened in the country and there is no future either. You should not be swayed by such a false notion. The youths should use their discretion and seek the truth,” the DPM motivated.
Singh opined that youth and students could assess the developments in the past and present by inquiring to their parents and seniors. He, however, admitted, “There is a lot to do for expected progress in the country.”
The DPM also highlighted the advancements in education sector in the country. He proudly reminded that Nepal had made stride in education sector- from the days when there were limited choices for subjects to opt for when he was a student himself to the present day when students can avail international-level education within Nepal.
“It is our responsibility to usher the country in the path of development. We must work seriously towards it and we are doing so as well,” the DPM said, encouraging the students.
On the occasion, he appealed to the students to consider pursuing higher education within the country rather than going abroad as, he argued, that there was no longer a compulsion to go abroad for study given the availability of international-level education at home.#nepal #rss
