NOC reduces price of petroleum products

Kathmandu, July 3: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has reduced the price of petroleum products. The board of directors of the corporation has reduced the price of diesel, petrol and kerosene and aviation fuel with effect from 12 pm tonight.

According to the corporation, the prices have been adjusted by dividing the geographical area of the country into three categories. The price of diesel, petrol and kerosene has been reduced by Rs 7.50 per liter in the first category, Rs. 6 per liter in the second category and Rs. 5 per liter in the third category, according to Manoj Thakur, spokesperson of the corporation.

The price of petrol per liter in the first category is Rs. 167. 50, in the second category it is Rs. 169 and in the third category it is Rs. 170. Earlier, the price of petrol was Rs 175 per liter across the country.

Similarly, the price of diesel and kerosene has been fixed at Rs. 147.50 in the first category, Rs. 149 in the second category and Rs. 150 in the third category.

The corporation has placed Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Birganj, Amlekhganj, Bhalbari, Nepalgunj and Dhangadhi in the first category, Surkhet and Dang in the second category and Kathmandu, Pokhara and Dipayal in the third category.

The corporation has reduced the price of aviation fuel (domestic) by Rs. 14 per liter and international by USD 115 per kiloliter. The price of LP gas (Rs. 1800 per cylinder) for cooking has been kept unchanged.

The petroleum supplier Indian Oil Corporation of India had sent new rate for petro products in which price was lowered.
