Nomadic Rautes receive social security allowance

DAILEKH: Gurans Rural Municipality has distributed social security allowance to nomadic Raute people residing at Chhedagad Municipality-5, Banka Thalaha in Jajarkot.

Newly-elected ward chairperson Deependra Oli shared the ward office provided social security allowance of three months to the Raute community people.

It may be noted that Gurans rural municipality-8 had distributed identity cards to the Raute people some five years ago.

The Raute families had reached Chhedagad municiplaity-5 Banka Thalaha of Jajarkot in course of migration. Ward chair Oli informed that social security allowance of three months (Magh, Falgun and Chaitra) was distributed to 144 members of 40 Raute families.

Rs 4,000 each was provided to the nomadic Raute community member, he added.

Raute community people are normally residing in and around Dailekh, Surkhet, Salyan and Jajarkot districts of Karnali province. Most of them have been residing in Dailekh.

The federal government has been distributing social security allowance to the Raute people through Gurans municipality, ward number 8 office since 2017.
