Kathmandu, Dec 12: Kathmandu Gurkhas were defeated by Janakpur Bolts by 5 wickets. Kathmandu set a target of 102 runs, which Janakpur successfully chased down in 15.5 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process.
James Neesham scored 27 runs, Harsh Thaker remained unbeaten on 25, Lahiru Milantha added 16, Mohammad Mohsin contributed 13, and Anil Sah made 11 runs for Janakpur.
On the bowling front, Kathmandu’s Karan KC took two wickets, while Shahab Alam, Gerhard Erasmus, and Dipesh Kandel each took one.
Earlier, Kathmandu, opting to bat first after winning the toss, was all out for 101 runs in 19.3 overs. Gerhard Erasmus top-scored for Kathmandu with 20 runs, including two boundaries. Captain Karan KC made 19, and Stephen Eskinazi scored 17 runs, but no other player managed to score in double digits.
For Janakpur, Lalit Rajbanshi and Sher Malla took three wickets each, while Mohammad Mohsin claimed two, and Araniko Yadav and Kishor Mahato picked up one wicket each.
With this victory, Janakpur became the first team to qualify for the playoffs. They have won 5 matches and lost just one.
