Kathmandu, Dec 4: Two matches are taking place today under the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), the franchise-based Twenty20 cricket tournament currently underway in Kathmandu.
At the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, the Kathmandu Gorkhas will take on the Pokhara Avengers in the first match of the day, as the race for playoff spots intensifies. The match is scheduled to begin at 11:45 am.
Kathmandu are in a relatively comfortable position with 8 points from 6 matches, while Pokhara are in a must-win situation to keep their playoff hopes alive, having collected just 4 points from 5 outings. Kathmandu Gorkhas currently sit second on the points table, whereas Pokhara Avengers are placed fifth.
In the second match, set to start at 4:00 pm at the same venue, the Chitwan Rhinos will face the only undefeated team of the tournament so far—the Sudurpaschim Royals.
