Kathmandu, Dec 2: Janakpur Bolts defeated Karnali Yaks by eight wickets, thanks to captain Anil Kumar Sah’s half-century in the Nepal Premier League (NPL).
This marks their second consecutive victory. In their first match on Saturday, Janakpur Bolts had beaten Biratnagar Kings by eight wickets. With this win, they currently lead the points table.
Batting first after winning the toss at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Karnali Yaks scored 141 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Janakpur Bolts successfully chased down the target of 142 runs in just 15.1 overs, losing two wickets. Captain Anil Kumar Sah scored an unbeaten 62 runs, hitting three sixes and six fours in his 42-ball innings.
Additionally, Aashif Sheikh contributed 36 runs in 29 balls with two sixes and two fours. Lahiru Milantha from Sri Lanka scored 24 runs in 13 balls with two sixes and two fours. James Neesham scored an unbeaten 16 runs in 8 balls, including one six and two fours.
On the bowling side, Zeeshan Maqsood and Mausam Dhakal each took one wicket for Karnali Yaks.
In their batting innings, Gulshan Kumar Jha top-scored with 36 runs in 27 balls, hitting three sixes and one four for Karnali Yaks. Arjun Gharti added 33 runs in 22 balls with two fours and two sixes. Captain Sompal Kami contributed an unbeaten 29 runs, including one six and three fours in 13 balls. Indian player Shikhar Dhawan scored 14 runs in 14 balls with three fours, and Babar Hayat from Hong Kong scored 12 runs.
For Janakpur Bolts, Pakistani player Mohammad Mohsin took two wickets, while James Neesham, Harsh Thaker, Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi, and Kishore Mahato each took one wicket. #NPL #nepal #cricket
