Kathmandu, May 31: The Non-Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA) has expressed happiness over the authentication of bill relating to amendment of Citizenship Act, 2063.

Executive Chairman of NRNA, Dr Badri KC, observed that the authentication of the bill relating to citizenship has now ensured ‘NRN citizenship’ along with socio-economic and cultural rights which was guaranteed by the constitution of Nepal, 2072.

He said the NRNA had been advocating for this issue since 2003 in view of the Nepali people living across the globe. President’s move has addressed it well, KC added.

“We believe President Paudel’s move will materialize the motto of ‘Once Nepali: Forever Nepali'”, Chairman KC stated, hoping that it would further link all Nepalis living in many countries across the globe to Nepal and transfer their knowledge, skills and capital to Nepal.

Moreover, the NRNA Chairman mentioned that the recent move would create atmosphere for protection of NRNs’ property in Nepal and help spur investment.

The NRNA thanked Prime Minister, Speaker, Chairman of National Assembly, political parties and legal experts to this regard.
