Kathmandu, Oct 9: Approximately 100,000 people are departing Kathmandu Valley each day to celebrate Dashain, Nepal’s most significant festival.
According to valley traffic police has stated that a notable increase in both vehicles and passengers at the four main transit points in the Valley.
In the past three days, the number of travelers has surged, particularly on Monday and Tuesday, compared to the previous Sunday and Monday.
Around 30,000 people are also entering the capital daily. Unlike last year’s festival, this year’s travel has been more manageable, with shorter wait times at busy locations like Buspark, Kalanki, Balkhu, Koteshwar, and Sitapaila, despite heavy traffic.
Passengers are travelling to their respective destinations outside the Valley via Araniko highway, Tribhuvan highway, Prithvi highway, and the Dakshinkali-Hetauda and the Kanti highways at present. #dashain
