The farmers of southern Lalitpur district have been found busy to plant paddy in their field. The early monsoon has created a favorable condition for the rice plantation. The rice plantation has already started across the country. Rice is the main staple food in Nepal.
However, Nepal has to import rice every year because of shortage in Nepal. Lack of irrigation facilities, improved seed, unavailability of chemical fertilizer in time of need, pesticides and knowledge have marred the production of rice.
