Kathmandu: The Embassy of Pakistan in Nepal organized a talk programme on ‘Right to Self Determination for the People of Jammu Kashmir’ in Kathmandu today. The programme was attended by over twenty five writers, TV anchors and analysts as well as representatives of human rights organizations.
Messages of the President, Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister of Pakistan on Kashmiris’ Right to Self Determination were read out. Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Pakistan’s strong and steadfast moral, political and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people will continue till the realization of their inalienable right of self determination.
Ambassador Mazhar Javed recollected the genesis of the dispute and the adoption of UNSC resolutions promising the people of Jammu and Kashmir their right to self determination.
Participants of the programme expressed concern on the worsening human rights situation in Kashmir resulting from the five month old clamp down on millions of people in the occupied territory.
Senior journalist Dhrubahari Adhikari, political scientist Surendra KC, Rajan Karki said dispute could be resolved through dialogue and discussion.
