Passport service resumes, efforts on for smooth service delivery

Kathmandu: The technical problem emerged in the verification process for the issuance of electronic passport has been resolved. Passport issuance service was affected following a technical issue since January 1.

The data of the service-seekers entered into the system for passport issuance hit a snag while verifying it.

Soon after the technical issue occurred affecting the service, a technical team, under the directive of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, had inspected the Department and mobilized the technicians from the Department of Information Technology.

Similarly, three technicians were mobilized by the Idemia Company to identify the hitch which managed to troubleshoot the technical issue, thereby resuming the passport issuance process.

PM Dahal, after assuming the office on December 25, 2022, had issued 30-points directives to the government ministries and their subordinate bodies on various topics including making the public services prompt and efficient.

The newly appointed Head of the Government had also directed the secretaries to enable environment for the service-seekers to avail public services without having to face hassle and line up in a queue for hours.
