Phalelung explosion victim families to get financial assistance

Kathmandu, Oct 31: The government has decided to provide financial assistance of maximum Rs 500,000 each to the families of Dipson Sawa and Prinsa Sawa, who died in an explosion that occurred at Phalelung rural municipality-5 in Panchthar district.

Sharing the decisions of cabinet meeting held on October 24 at a news conference organized at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology on Wednesday, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithivi Subba Gurung said the meeting gave the permission to acquire around 65 hectares of land in Gulariya municipality of Bardiya district for Babai Irrigation Project.

Similarly, permission has been granted to the Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development to participate in bilateral and multilateral meetings scheduled in Mexico from November 6-12.

The government has decided to extend the tenure of Honorary Consul/Consul General of 11 different countries including Slovenia for four years.

The cabinet also decided to provide permission to the Minister for Physical Infrastructures and Transport to attend the 16th Regional Environmentally Sustainable Transport Forum in Asia taking place at Manila of Philippines from December 10-12 as well as the Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens to participate in ‘Family and Contemporary Megatrend’ to be organized in Qatar from October 29-31.

Permission has been granted to use 6.06 hectares of land belonging to National Forest located at Raghuganga rural municipality in Myagdi district for the construction of 220-kV transmission line of Thulokhola hydropower project.

The government has decided to give permission to Janak Education Material Centre Limited to print postal tickets and landownership registration certificate and visa stickers.

It took the decision to approve officer-level three temporary quotas for fiscal year 2024/25 under the Tarai Madhes Prosperity Programme of the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration.

The cabinet also decided to scrap the Border Administration Offices located at Byas Chharung in Darchula, Pashupatinagar in Ilam as well as Immigration Offices in Pashupatinagar, Ilam.

Also the Spokesperson of the government, Gurung shared that the government appointed Dr Savyata Gautam, Kathmandu, and Bishnu Prasad Kandel, Baglung to the post of member of the Nepal Pharmacy Council.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has decided to extend the deadline of the land and property study committee of Nepal Sanskrit University by two months and to approve the use of 4.95 hectares of National Forest land in Dharche Rural Municipality of Gorkha District for the construction of Machha Khola Hydropower Project under the Ministry of Forests and Environment.

The meeting decided to approve the participation of the Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security in the conference of ‘Toward a Labor International’ organized by the Spanish government on November 13 and 14 in Madrid, Spain.

On the proposal of the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, it has been decided to give approval to Mayor Dhanraj Acharya, of Pokhara Metropolitan City, to participate in the programme organized by the UN-Habitat in Cairo, Egypt from 4 to 8 November.

Minister Gurung also informed that it has been decided to approve the Money Laundering Prevention Regulation, 2081 and the Special Structure Operation and Management Development Committee (Establishment) Order, 2081.

Similarly, in the cabinet meeting held on October 29, it was decided to approve the amendment of the ‘line of credit’ of the loan agreement between the government of Nepal and the Exim Bank of India to maintain 350 million US dollars and 50 million US dollars, respectively, on the proposal of the Ministry of Finance.

It has been decided to approve the acquisition of about 0.26 hectares of land in Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Arghakhanchi and Dang districts to construct the tower pad of the new Butwal Lamahi 400 KV transmission line project. On the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Deputy Inspector General of Police Kiran Rana has been promoted to the vacant post of Additional Inspector General of Police.

A decision was taken to promote Deputy Inspector General of Police (technical) Dr Sundar Prasad Hyoju to the vacant post of Additional Inspector General of Police.

Likewise, the cabinet approved the visit of a Nepali delegation led by President Ramchandra Paudel to participate in the ‘World Leaders Climate Action Summit’ to be held from November 10 to 15 under the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Climate Change to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan.

It has been decided to approve 10 additional temporary positions of officer level for the fiscal year 2081/82 to implement the project of the office of the problematic cooperative management committee run under the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation.

The cabinet decided to constitute the Land Problem Resolution Commission under the leadership of Hariprasad Rizal of Pyuthan. Sanat Kumar Karki of Jajarkot is the vice president, Gunja Bahadur Khadka of Mahottari and Anil Krishna Prasain of Jhapa are the members. #cabinet #rss #nepal
