Birtamod, July 28: In the fiscal year 2023/24, 99 thousand eight hundred and one metric tons of wooden goods worth Rs 2 billion 960 million, 41 lakh 94 thousand have been exported to India. Plywood is produced by planting fast-growing plants such as uttis(Alder tree) in the farmlands of the eastern hills in Nepal.
Veneer wood is produced from wooden boards. The veneer wood is processed to make plywood for furniture and other wooden items.
During the same period, 21 thousand nine hundred and ninety-four metric tons of veneer worth Rs 241 million is exported to India, said Plant Quarantine Office Kakarvitta office, information officer Chandreshwar Yadav.
