PM Oli called for a collaborative approach to addressing monsoon-induced disaster

Kathmandu, Oct 18: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called on the three-tier governments to engage in relief distribution and recovery efforts in the aftermath of recent flooding and landslides caused by incessant rains.

The nonstop rains that occurred on September 27-28 had wreaked havoc in 14 districts including the federal capital, Kathmandu.
He urged the governments at all levels to consider the post-disaster situation as a crisis similar to that of the 2015 Gorkha earthquake and address it accordingly.

During the 14th meeting of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management National Council on Friday, the Prime Minister stated that post-disaster rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts are underway, taking into account the seriousness of the situation.

He called for a coordinated and collaborative approach from the three-tier governments to deal with the situation, focusing on providing relief assistance and shelter for the survivors.

PM Oli also expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructures and Transport, security agencies, and all relevant for taking all possible measures to restore the damaged roadways before the Dashain festival. #monsoon #disaster #nepal
