Kathmandu, July 21: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s is scheduled to embark a two-day India visit on coming September 16-17 and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is learnt to be making preparations.
Ministry’s Spokesperson Lok Bahadur Paudel Chhetri said, however, the date for the PM’s official visit is yet to be fixed adding that Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other ministries as well as their line agencies are preparing for the PM’s official visit.
Prime Minister Oli had to wait at least 14 months to visit India which was against the tradition. However, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and PM Oli met in several occasions like UN General Assembly, BIMSTEC and other international forums.
India was not particularly happy with the new coalition government under KP Sharma Oli. But Nepali Congress and CPN UML coalition government has already completed one year of service, and leaders of both the parties have vowed to continue the existing coalition until next general election almost years later.
