Pokhara folks request Prime Minister Oli for regular international flights at Pokhara



Pokhara, Nov 19: Ministers from the Gandaki Province government and local tourism entrepreneurs have urged Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to take initiative for regular international flights at Pokhara International Airport. The request was made during a meeting with the Prime Minister’s Office at Singha Durbar, where the delegation, including Minister of Industry and Tourism of Gandaki Province, Mitralal Basyal, raised the issue.

Minister Basyal emphasized the need for international flights to boost tourism in Pokhara, which is considered the tourism capital of Gandaki Province, and requested that the central government also declare it as the country’s tourism capital.

In response, Prime Minister Oli stated that, in the context of the government declaring 2025 as the Nepal Visit Year, he would raise the matter of increasing tourists during his upcoming visit to China. He also assured that he would take steps to facilitate regular international flights to Pokhara.

The meeting was attended by Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Minister Badri Pandey, Secretary of the Province’s Ministry of Industry and Tourism Kuman Singh Gurung, President of Pokhara Industry and Commerce Association Gokarna Karki, and President of Pokhara Tourism Council Taranath Pahadi, among others. #pokhara #flight #nepal
