Hetauda, Jan 5: The identities of five out of six persons who lost their lives in the Bhimphedi jeep accident have been established, police said on Monday.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Pushkar Bogati of the District Police Office, Makawanpur, the deceased have been identified as Sabita Lamsal (40) of Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City–4; Nikhil Agrawal (29) of Hetauda–2; Krishna Prasad Phunyal (56) of Hetauda–10; and Arbind Kumar (50) and Rajanis Kumar (42) of Bihar, India. The identity of one male victim is yet to be ascertained, DSP Bogati added.
Meanwhile, the injured Ganesh Thapa and Avyas Lamsal of Hetauda–4 are undergoing treatment at Old Medical College, Chitwan, while Richa Chaudhary (21) of Chandrapur Municipality, Rautahat, is receiving treatment at Hetauda Hospital.
The accident occurred on Sunday evening when a jeep (registration number Na 1 Ja 1778) travelling towards Hetauda from Kathmandu plunged approximately 100 meters off the road at Bhimphedi Rural Municipality–6 along the Bhimphedi–Kulekhani–Kathmandu road.
Police stated that six seriously injured passengers succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at Hetauda Hospital on Sunday night. #nepal #accident
