Butwal, Oct 16: Chief Minister of Lumbini Province, Chet Narayan Acharya, has said the Nepal Police organisation needs to be further strengthened and transformed as per the changing context.
In his address to a programme organized today by the Lumbini Province Police Office in Butwal on the occasion of the 69th Police Day, the Chief Minister spoke of the need to further advance the police organization in terms of technology for its transformation.
“The cases of crimes have risen. More challenges have appeared. And Amid these situations, our police organization should transform itself as per the changing scenario, focusing on the mitigation of crimes and the safety of the public,” he said, applauding the role of police organisations in maintaining peace and order and combating crimes.
Also speaking on the occasion, Lumbini Province Chief Secretary Mahadev Panth said the police have achieved success in crime investigation, maintenance of peace and order, disaster management, and so on.
With the technological advancement, the nature of crimes has changed, posing further challenges for police, he said, underlining the need to connect the investigation procedures to advanced technology. On the occasion, the best performers in the police service were honoured and the winners of various sports competitions held on the occasion of the Police Day were awarded. #police
