Kathmandu, Feb 14: A delegation led by Chief Executive Officer of Surbana Jurong in Singapore, Sean Chiao, called on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Friday and discussed expansion of Group’s investment in Nepal’s infrastructure and urban development.
During the meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence, the SJ expressed its interest in exploring investment potentiality in Nepal’s energy, tourism, railway, tunnel-way, smart city, and expressway. The SJ owned by the government of Singapore has already established its office in Nepal.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister vowed facilitation in building an atmosphere conducive for collaboration and cooperation with world’s prestigious investors to meet Nepal’s national aspirations of ‘prosperous Nepal, happy Nepali’.
Describing Singapore as the country with a speedy development, the Prime Minister expressed his hope that the SJ’s excellence and expertise would be useful in advancing Nepal’s development and prosperity.
The Prime Minister, however, said only the availability of budget is not sufficient for securing budget. He said the government is fully committed to accelerating Nepal’s development efforts. I long for establishing the government as a real government of the people.
We are committed to refraining from any sort of corruption. We wish country’s development and happy citizens,” he said, promising legal and structural changes to promote the expansion of investment from the SJ-like organisations in Nepal.
Chief Executive Officer of the Investment Board of Nepal, Sushil Gyawali, SJ Chief Operating Officer and Chief Transformation Officer Ling Su Min, CPN (UML) chief on central urban development department, Sher Bahadur Tamang, SJ South Asia Chief Executive, Avinash Misra, and Nepal Chief, Bilas Koirala, were also present during the meeting.#nepal #political #rss
