Bagmati, July 27: The political parties are engaged in discussions for the formation of the government in Bagmati province.
Earlier, after the CPN (UML) withdrew its support to the Nepali Congress, the parties are engaged in discussions for the formation of a new government in the province.
There are a total of 104 members in the Bagmati Provincial Assembly. Nepali Congress has 36 members, Nepali Communist Party 26, CPN (UML) 25, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) 12, Nepal Workers and Peasants Party 3 and Hamro Nepali Party has 2 seats.
The support of 53 MPs is required to form the government in the Bagmati Provincial Assembly. Although there is an agreement between the CPN (UML) and the NCP for the formation of a new government, there is no situation in which a government will be formed in Bagmati only from these two parties.
The CPN (UML) is continuously discussing with parties that have the possibility of partnership with CPN for the formation of the government, said Jagannath Thapaliya, leader of CPN (UML) Bagmati Province Parliamentary Party.
Pukar Maharjan, chief whip of Nepali Congress Bagmati Province, said that Nepali Congress, the largest party in the provincial assembly, has started discussions for the formation of the government under its own leadership. He said that the Congress is discussing with Rastriya Prajatantra Party, NWPP and Hamro Nepali Party regarding the formation of the government in the province. #nepal #rss
