Gulmi: Chandra Bhandari of Nepali Congress has won the House of Representatives election of Gulmi Constituency No. 1. He defeated CPN (UML) Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali.
It is said that the final official announcement of the election is yet to be made. Gyawali was elected from this constituency in the 2074 BS House of Representatives elections.
According to the latest results, UML’s heavyweights have lost election, including Senior Vice Chairman Ishwor Pokhrel, General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel.
After losing the election, Gyawali has posted a comment in social media and said, “Even if I cannot reach the parliament, I will always be active towards the bright future of the country and the movement. There is no doubt about defeat in me. I have accepted this result with an informed attitude.”
