KATHMANDU: Central Member Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat has been nominated as the spokesperson of the Nepali Congress.
According to the party office, party President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has nominated him as the spokesperson in accordance with sub-section (4) of section 25 of the party’s Statute 2017 (with amendments).
Chairman Deuba nominated him with the belief that there would be significant support and activism to make the party organization more strong and dynamic and wished him success in his work.
Dr. Mahat, who had earlier held the post of joint general secretary of the party, was a candidate for the post of General Secretary at the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress. However, he was defeated in the election.
