Kathmandu, Oct 10: At the invitation of President Ramchandra Paudel, a discussion is being held among the political leaders and the Prime Minister on the upcoming election and other contemporary issues.
The meeting held at the President’s Office, Sheetal Niwas, is attended by all Cabinet members including Prime Minister Sushila Karki, and leaders of various political parties that represented in the dissolved House of Representatives.
Vice President of Nepali Congress Purna Bahadur Khadka and General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa, CPN UML Senior Vice Chair Ishwar Pokharel and General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel, former Senior Vice Chair of CPN (Maoist Centre), Narayan Kaji Shrestha and former Deputy General Secretary Barshaman Pun are attending the meeting.
DP Aryal, Acting President and Bipin Kumar Acharya, Deputy General Secretary, of the Rastriya Swatantra Party; Gyanendra Shahi and Meena Lama of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party; and Vice Chairman Rajendra Pandey and General Secretary Ghanashyam Bhusal from the CPN (Unified Socialist) are also attending the discussion.
Renu Yadav from the People’s Socialist Party, Chandrakant Raut and Jaykumar Raut from the Janamat Party, Gyanendra Jha and Sarvendra Nath Shukla from the Democratic Socialist Party, Resham Chaudhary from the Nagarik Unmukti Party, Sunil Prajapati from the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party, and Bidyut Bajracharya and Prakash Adhikari from the Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal are other leaders attending the discussion called by the President.
It is the first discussion held between President Paudel and the party leaders following the Gen-Z protest that took place on September 8 and 9, resulting into the formation of a new government and the dissolution of the House of Representatives.
The interim government headed by Sushila Karki is mandated to hold HoR election on March 5. #nepal #rss
