President Paudel praises role of community radios

Kathmandu, March 25: President Ram Chandra Paudel has said that the community radios have crucial role in disseminating information to the citizens and community.

During a meeting with the Association of Community Radio Broadcasters Nepal (ACORAB) at Sheetal Niwas on Saturday, the President praised the role of ACORAB for played for disseminating true information in a prompt manner.

The mass media, particularly the FM radios, in Nepal have performed effective role to ensure an access to information to the people. “Access to information has become accessible among the citizens in the grassroots level due to the community radios. You deserve thanks for this. Likewise, the community radios have special roles to develop local productions and productivity in the local level,” according to the President.

The President said that country’s economy would get a boost if the community radios encouraged the issue of productivity at the local level.

President Paudel also laid emphasis on developing the culture to respect the labour.

On the occasion, ACORAB extended its heartfelt congratulations to Paudel on his election to the post of the President and wished for his successful tenure.

Likewise, Chairman of ACORAB Arjun Giri presented a radio set to the President.
