Prime Minister and top leaders to address opening House Session

Kathmandu, Jan 27: The schedule of the winter session of the Federal Parliament, which will start from January 31, has been prepared. The meeting with the chief whips and whips of the major political parties held today at Singhdarbar under the chairmanship of (HoR) Speaker DevrajGhimire has prepared the work schedule for the whole month of Magh (till Mid-February).

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Mahesh Bertaula, the chief whip of the ruling party CPN (UML), informed that the agenda has been prepared to be discussed in winter session of the Parliament.

According to him, at the beginning of the first day of the Parliament, Prime Minister and the top leaders will address. On the same day, various ordinances brought by the government will be tabbed to the parliament. “The Prime Minister will address the first day of the Parliament session. After that, the initial agenda to be addressed by the top leaders of all political parties, including the leader of the opposition party, has been fixed”, said Chief Whip Bartaula.

Chief Whip of Nepali Congress Shyam Kumar Ghimire said that the agenda of the meeting of the Parliament till Mid February has been prepared and it has been agreed to proceed accordingly. In subsequent meetings, the ordinances submitted to the Parliament will be presented for decision.

The agenda prepared by today’s meeting will be approved by the business advisory committee meeting on Tuesday. Chief Whip Bartaula informed that there is an agreement between the ruling party and the main opposition party to pass important bills and existing laws to make the upcoming session effective.

He expressed his commitment to increase the efficiency of the Parliament and make it creative and active. Chief Whip of CPN (Maoist Centre) Hitraj Pandey and Whip of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP) Nisha Dangi also participated in the meeting. #nepal #parliament #house
