Prime Minister Dahal arrived in Rome



Kathmandu, July 23: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has reached Rome, Italy. Prime Minister Dahal, leading the Nepali delegation to participate in the ‘United Nations Food Systems-2023 Stocktaking Moment ‘ organized in Rome, Italy, the headquarters of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), reached there today at 7:30 am local time.

Prime Minister Dahal will make a special address on the program. The program is being held from July 24 to 26. Prime Minister’s Press Coordinator Suryakiran Sharma informed that the Prime Minister was welcomed by the Nepali Ambassador in Rome, Bharat Kumar Regmi, and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy.

Prime Minister Dahal will address the opening ceremony of the program as the Chairman of Least Developed Countries. Recently, Nepal has assumed the presidency of the Global Coordination Bureau of Least Developed Countries for five years.

The delegation led by Prime Minister Dahal left for Italy on Saturday. His personal secretary and daughter Ganga Dahal, Agriculture and Livestock Development Minister Dr. Beduram Bhusal, National Planning Commission member Dr. Jaikant Raut, security personnel and media person are participating with the Prime Minister.

Similarly, Prime Minister Dahal will participate in the discussion session organized about school meals. He will also participate in the discussion on food system change and practice.

During the visit, Prime Minister Dahal will have a sideline meeting with high officials of the United Nations. The program in which Prime Minister Dahal will meet with United Nations officials including the Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization, the Executive Director of the World Food Program, and the President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development has been scheduled.

On that occasion, there will be an important discussion about Nepal’s food security as well as the challenges Nepal is facing and international cooperation. Similarly, Prime Minister Dahal will participate in the interaction organized by the Non-Resident Nepalese Association in Rome.
