Kathmandu, April 16: On the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ will embark an first official visit to India on May 5.

Due to various reasons, he could not visit India earlier. Now Prime Minister Dahal has appointed Nepali Congress MP Narayan Prakash (NP) Saud as Foreign Minister just to prepare for his visit to India.

It is said that Naveen Srivastava, the Indian Ambassador to Nepal, met Prime Minister Prachanda and extended an invitation. This will be Prachanda’s first foreign visit since he became the Prime Minister after the general election.

He has repeatedly said that his first foreign visit will be to India. With the intention of making his first foreign visit from India, he did not participate in the Boao Forum held in China last March. He was also formally invited by China to participate in the Boao Forum.
