Kathmandu, Aug 8: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has directed the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology to come up with a solid action plan to ensure life skills and quality education.
Issuing directives on concrete works that can be done within the next 100 days in the field of education at the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers today, he said that the share of technical stream in education should be 70 percent.
Calling for attention to the production of skilled human resource, the Prime Minster said that in the current context education is necessary to produce human resources required to build the nation.
The Prime Minister pointed out the need to work to increase the enrollment rate at the school level, reduce dropout and increase the quality of education and instructed the education authorities to work so that at least 70 percent of students pass the next year’s SEE examination.
He emphasized on the optimum use of science and technology and also instructed to come up with a concrete program in this regard. “Come up with a concrete program to increase the use of science and technology in the fields of education, agriculture and industry,” he said.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Bishnu Paudel, Minister of Education, Science and Technology Bidya Bhattarai, Chief Secretary Liladevi Gadtaula among others were present during the meeting. #nepal #education
