Prime Minister Oli going to the Election Commission today

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli have been visiting the Office of the Election Commission in Kantipath today.

The Commission had called both the faction of ruling NCP on January 29 to discuss party dispute and election preparations.

Although leaders of NCP (Prachanda-Madhav) faction have already reached the Commission and claimed officiality.

Leaders of both the camps of the NCP have been claiming that they represent the party. However, the Commission has been saying that the claims of both the parties have not been met.

As being the Chairman, Prime Minister Oli will once again claim that he represents the official NCP. He will also take information about the preparations for the upcoming general elections.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari had dissolved the House of Representatives on the recommendation of Prime Minister Oli and announced the date of the next election.

Immediately after the dissolution of the parliament, the NCP itself has divided into two faction. One camp is led by Oli while the other is led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Madhav Kumar Nepal.

The Prachanda-Madhav faction, which has been claiming that the majority of central members are on its side, has removed Oli from the post of Chairman and made Madhav Kumar Nepal the Chairman.
